Located on the magnificent shores of incredible Lake Austin in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Lake Austin Spa Resort offers the facilities of a world-class spa. Here are 05 tips to quench thirst without excess sugar and calories:
-Fruit Juice Concentrate. Instead of adding individual drink mixes to a bottle of water, add two teaspoons of fruit juice concentrate to water and shake well. This small amount of sugar satiates a sweet craving and also helps to retrain taste buds to enjoy a less strong artificially sweetened beverage.
-Herbal Teas The flavor options are endless and it’s simple to brew your own blend. Just add ice, cold water and a few sprigs of mint for cool refreshment.
-Sparkling Water. Because our bodies are releasing toxins daily, it is vital to consume enough water to flush these toxins out. Especially when losing weight, if toxins are not excreted, they can be released into the blood. The answer? Drink more water – and adding bubbles to your water intake keep it interesting.
-Steam Distilled Essential Oils. One drop of steam distilled essential oil such as lemon, orange or peppermint adds flavor to water or herbal teas.
-Fruits and Vegetables. Infusions! Remember the last time you were at your favorite spa and drank the cucumber-infused water? You can make this quickly at home as well. At the end of your day, drop a few slices of watermelon, cucumber or oranges (or experiment with your favorite fruits and vegetables) into a carafe of water, refrigerate overnight and enjoy healthy, flavorful waters.
